January Running Report

Last update: 25th February 2011

HADLEIGH 10 MILE ROAD RACE

The club’s showpiece event recently underwent a scrutiny by the British Association of Road Races, who work in unison with UK Athletics. Following on from this inspection the club is extremely proud to say that our race is ranked in the top 5% of races that have been scrutinized in England. Our thanks as always go to the numerous volunteers who help run our club and whom were on hand to organize this year’s event; well done to you all.

 SUFFOLK CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 12km Suffolk cross country championships were held at Ickworth Park, Bury St Edmunds on 9 January. The course was one of the toughest used over recent years, and it was certainly a challenge worthy of the county championship event. It was a very muddy course with some boggy parts that had you sliding all over the place, combined with some nice hills for the insane. Two Hadleigh Hares managed to make the event and do themselves proud, Brian Airlie finishing in 46th place with a time of 55.21 closely followed by Steve Hunt finishing in 59th place with a time of 58.49. Well done to them both.
