Great Bentley Half marathon

It was a magnificent turn out for the Hadleigh Hares with 25 athletes amongst the 827 competitors at the Great Bentley Half Marathon. The weather was almost kind and it stayed dry for the race with little wind - important on a race through exposed countryside. Three groups of Hares competed: the triathletes who were using the event as training for this year's Ironman and biked to and from the event, the established road runners, and 9 ladies for whom this was their first ever half marathon. Clive Pinnion was the first male Hare home with a morale boosting time of 1:27:45 suggesting he is finally over his injury and ready to post a good time in the London Marathon. First female Hare home was Trudy Avis with an excellent time of 1:45:56 beating the next female Hare by almost 10 minutes. Well done to all those who took part, especially those that completed their first half marathon so successfully.
