London Marathon 25th April 2010

Running a marathon is no mean feat. Just reaching the start line involves months of training and hours of pounding the streets. This year three Hares – Matt Gant, Trudy Avis and Frankie Dowie - took up the challenge of the Virgin London Marathon, one of the most famous and prestigious races in the world .

Despite the forecast predicting temperatures over 20 degrees, Trudy, Frankie and Matt were met at the start by a cool, damp morning perfect for running.

The first Hare to finish was triathlete Matt in an impressive 3:34:29, wearing his Hares shirt with pride.

Despite feeling uncomfortably crowded and unable to get properly into her stride Trudy still managed an excellent 4:08:41 in her first ever marathon and raised £5700 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. ◄ You can read about Trudy's race day here.

Having been frustrated by injury during her training, Frankie toughed it out to finish in 5:48:06. Congratulations to all three on a tremendous achievement.
