Hadleigh Cross Country - 01/02/2015
By Hadleigh Hares, Feb 3 2015 10:02PM
Hadleigh Hares were the hosts for the final cross country race of the season around the fields of Holbecks Farm. The junior race was first and Hadleigh’s course was without a doubt the longest, toughest and coldest of the season, with the snow starting to drive in just as the race set off.
Congratulations to the seven tough kids who all managed to make it to the finish line.
Our juniors were:
Ella Bodsworth, Thomas & Lucy Holdaway, Oliver Cross, Noah Jamieson, Freddie Ashmore & Elizabeth Stewart.
The junior Hares finished in an excellent 9th position in the final standings.
The snow eased off for the Seniors so they had it much easier but the 5 mile course which takes in two assents up Constitution Hill was still one of the more challenging races in the series.
Hadleigh put out a strong squad in the male and female categories and finished top again in both to confirm our promotion to Pool A.
That was the final race of the local cross country series but we still have a few runners heading off for county and national competitions so good luck to them.
