24 July 2010: Exciting New Social Event - Club Trail Race

Another fun Club event: “The Trail Challenge”
Date: Saturday 24th July 2010

This event is suitable for all Seniors regardless of level of ability as clear thinking counts as much as speed. Also, it is meant to be a fun social event rather than being taken too seriously.

This is a “race” over approximately 5 miles, following written instructions. As with the Run/Row, you will be allocated a partner at random! The idea is to complete the route, which is predominately cross country, as quickly as you can (without getting lost!). There will be a small prize for the fastest “Pair of Hares”. Being first back does not mean being fastest as you will be starting at 5 minute intervals to stop a certain amount of cheating! However, you need to be back for Pub Closing Time (your first clue!).

All participants must ensure they have a working phone in the unlikely event that you get lost or need assistance. Pairs of Hares finishing separately will not have their times recorded – so you need to stick together.

We will meet at Toppesfield Bridge at 3pm and the finish is somewhere close by. The overall distance is about 5 miles.

27 March 2010: Hadleigh Hares AGM 2010 Report

The Hadleigh Hares Annual General Meeting took place at the Royal British Legion on Thursday 25th March 2010. The committee would like to thank all members that took the time to attend the meeting. We would also like to thank, on behalf of the members, the current committe who have worked so hard to build the club over the last 12 months.

The AGM agenda comprised the following items:

  • Constitution - the constitution was discussed, amended and agreed.

26 February 2010: Hadleigh Hares awarded prestigious Clubmark

Clubmark PresentationHadleigh Hares are pleased to announce they are the proud recipients of the Clubmark standard which was presented on 9th February by James Cudmore, of England Athletics. Achieving accredited club status, attained through 12 months of hard work to meet the strict criteria laid down by Sport England, will ensure our club is now nationally recognized as providing our juniors with a 'safe, effective and child friendly' club environment.

This award couldn’t have happened without the continued hard work, support and dedication of our coaches who selflessly take time to encourage our young members to improve their talents and hopefully maintain a lifelong involvement with Sport. Our immense gratitude and thanks go to Clive Pinnion, Liz Palfry, Carol Nokes, Trudy Avis, Jackie Kirk, Brian Airlie, and Barbara Sanders.

26 February 2010: Hadleigh Hares Annual General Meeting Announcement

This year's AGM is to be held on Thursday 25th March 7.00pm at The Royal British Legion. It would be great to see as many Club Members there as possible to support the Club – it is your club and this is your chance to have your say on any matters affecting the Club.

The Club cannot function without a committee and the AGM is the time when the current committee steps down and the members vote in a new committee. We are always looking for new people to join the committee so if you are interested please don't be shy. It is hard but rewarding work that makes a real difference to the local community.

The current committee has served the club well over the last 12 months but at present several of the current committee perform several roles within the club. It would benefit the club greatly if the work load could be shared amongst more members. There is no pressure to become a committee member but if you are interested / willing to stand on the committee and would like more information please speak to one of the current committee members.
